የዓለም አቀፍ የሰብአዊነት ሕግ ምስለ ችሎት ውድድር ተካሄደ

ሚያዚያ 22/2018 ዓ.ም፤ (የፌደራል ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤት)

የ9ነኛው አገር አቀፍ የዓለም አቀፍ የሰብአዊነት ሕግ ምስለ ችሎት (IHL Moot Court) ውድድር የአለም አቀፍ ቀይ መስቀል ኮሚቴ ከፌደራል ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤት ጋር በመተባበር በጦርነት ቀውስ ወቅት የሕፃናትና ትምህርት ጥበቃ በሚል ጭብጥ ተካሂዷል፡፡

‎ለሁለት ተከታታይ ቀናት ሚያዚያ 20 እና 21/2018 ዓ/ም ሲካሄድ በቆየው የምስለ ችሎት ውድድር ከሐዋሳ፣ ከመቀሌ፣ ከባህርዳር፣ ከአዲስ አበባ፣ ከወለጋ እና ከጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች የተወጣጡ የሕግ ተማሪዎች የተሳተፉበት ሲሆን፤ ተወዳዳሪዎች በተሰጧቸው የመወዳደሪያ ኬዞች ላይ በተለያዩ ዙሮች ክርክሮቻቸውን በማቅረብ የላቀ ውጤት ያስመዘገቡ ሁለት ቡድኖች ለፍጻሜ ውድድር እንዲያልፉ ተደርጓል።

‎የፍጻሜ ውድድር መድረኩ ላይ የመክፈቻ ንግግር ያደረጉት የፌደራል ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤት ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንት ክብርት ወ/ሮ አበባ እምቢአለ፤ ዘላቂ የለውጥ ስራዎችን ለማረጋገጥ ከሚያስችሉ ጉዳዮች አንዱ አዳዲስ የሕግ ባለሙያዎች ወደፊት ሊያገለግሉባቸው ከሚችሉባቸው ተቋማት ጋር ማገናኘት መሆኑን በማንሳት እንደዚህ አይነት የምስለ ችሎት ውድድሮች ደግሞ ይህንን ዕቅድ በተግባር ለመለወጥ አይነተኛ መንገድ መሆኑን አንስተዋል።

‎አያይዘውም፤ ፍርድ ቤቶች ክርክሮች የሚፈቱባቸው ቦታዎች ብቻ ሳይሆኑ ተግባራዊ እውቀት፣ የሙያ ስነ-ምግባር እና የገሃዱ ዓለም ተሞክሮ ለሚቀጥለው ትውልድ የሚጋራባቸው የልህቀት ማዕከላት መሆን እንደሚገባቸው በመጥቀስ፤ ለዚህም የትምህርት ተቋማትና እና የፍትህ ተቋማት እጅና ጓንት ሆነው መስራት እንደሚገባቸው አሳስበዋል።

‎የፌደራል ጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤት ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንት ፅ/ቤት ኃላፊ ዳኛ አበበ ሰለሞን በበኩላቸው፤ የዳኝነት ተቋማት ከከፍተኛ የትምህርት ተቋማት ጋር በትብብር መስራታቸው ተተኪ የህግ ባለሙያዎች ተግባር ተኮር እውቀት እና ልምድ እንዲያገኙ የሚያስችል መሆኑን በመጥቀስ፣ አለም አቀፍ የቀይ መስቀል ማህበር ይህን ውድድር ከጠቅላይ ፍርድ ቤት ጋር በመተባበር ማዘጋጀቱ የሚበረታታ ነው ብለዋል፡፡

‎የ9ነኛው አገር አቀፍ የዓለም አቀፍ የሰብአዊነት ሕግ ምስለ ችሎት (IHLMoot Court) ውድድር አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ አሸናፊ በመሆን የዋንጫ ተሸላሚ ሲሆን፤ ባህርዳር እና መቀሌ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በቅደም ተከተል 2ኛ እና 3ኛ ደረጃን በመያዝ አጠናቀዋል።

‎International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition Held at the Federal Supreme Court

‎The 9th National International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot Court Competition, organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia, held under the theme “The Protection of Children and Education during Armed Conflict.”

The two-day national moot court competition, held from April 28–29, 2026, concluded its preliminary rounds with two finalist teams selected to advance. The competition featured law students from Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Hawassa, Mekelle, and Wollega Universities. Participants engaged in multiple rounds of oral arguments based on assigned legal cases and following a demanding evaluation of their legal reasoning and advocacy skills, the two highest-scoring teams were elect to compete in the grand final.

‎In an opening address at the grand final, H.E. Abeba Embiale, Vice President of the Federal Supreme Court, emphasized that bridging the gap between aspiring legal professionals and their future workplaces is essential for ensuring sustainable reform. She noted that such moot court competitions serve as a primary vehicle for translating this strategic goal into practical reality.

‎She added that courts must evolve beyond their role as venues for dispute resolution. Instead, they should serve as centers of excellence where practical knowledge, professional ethics, and real-world experience are transfer to the next generation. To achieve this vision, she reminds educational institutions and the justice system to work in close coordination, working hand in hand to bridge the gap between academic theory and judicial practice.

Judge Abebe Solomon, Head of the Office of the Vice President of the Federal Supreme Court, highlighted the vital role of academic and judicial partnerships in shaping the next generation of legal professionals and He commended the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for its initiative in organizing the competition in partnership with the Supreme Court.

Addis Ababa University (AAU) emerges as the champion of the 9th National International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot Court Competition, while the competition concludes with Bahir Dar University and Mekelle University earning second and third place, respectively.
